I advise companies on Digital Marketing Strategy & Optimization and Web Analytics and plan to expand to cover Lean Startup Concepts.

My focus clients are high-growth internet startups (typically Angel or VC backed) that are engaging with end consumers (i.e. rarely B2B).

I transfer knowledge to the existing team or help build one up.

Digital Marketing Strategy & Optimization

Additionally I typically deliver the following services in a situation where a startup already has significant traction, a proven business model as well as capital and aims to scale very quickly. (For innovative concepts, these cases are rare)

- Identification of channel opportunities (Relevant Content Creation, SEO, Paid Search, Affiliate, Social Media, Banner Networks etc.)
- Connect to suitable experts, agencies, tool vendors
- Managing & Evaluating campaign execution (typically no operational involvement)

Web Analytics

Quantitative and qualitative insights are helpful at every stage of a startup from determining feasibility of the original concept to scaling.

Examples:
- Develop, execute and improve web analytics strategy
- Support with tool selection and managing implementation by developers
- Evaluation of base performance and benchmarking
- Connect to A/B, multivariate testing, Usability/User Experience specialists
- Determining KPIs and creating multi stakeholder dashboards

- Tracking performance and making further recommendations

Lean Startup Concepts

I am just starting to get into this, but I see it as a future core focus to support startups build up their business in a lean way (as e.g. Eric Ries outlines in his book “The Lean Startup”).
Most of my clients already run agile development processes anyway and I am excited about the opportunities for companies to become lean in a more comprehensive way.

Examples:
- Customer Development processes
- Building Minimum Viable Products
- Defining hypotheses for testing and corresponding KPIs
- First user acquisition

I am currently based in Berlin and visit London frequently, I am generally available to work on projects globally (remotely or on the ground temporarily in major capital cities).
Clients have been located in e.g. Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Czech Republic, Germany, United Kingdom, USA (USA remote only), Canada, Argentina, Colombia.
I have seen some of my former clients being acquired by major corporations, grow into large sustainable companies as well as fail (the minority, and I would like to keep it that way).
